Alongside here are a few of the things that people have said about us on Evenings Out (where you can also view a virtual tour of the restaurant.)
Following our hugely sucessful Faulty Towers Dining Experience here at the beginning of September - and again at the beginnging of February, here is a flavour of what happened:
"The Dining Room at Purchases in North Street Chichester was again transformed into the famous Torquay Hotel - Faulty Towers - back by popular demand!; by actors from The Interative Theatre Company of Australia. Diners arrived to the familiar music of the TV sitcom, and were ordered to their tables by a very stern Basil Faulty. Chaos ensued with Sybil, Basil and Manuel rushing round, getting all the orders mixed up, wrong cutlery was laid, bottles of wine unopened and general mayhem. Basil told diners off for putting their elbows on the table, and at one point forced a diner to leave the restaurant, announcing: “That’s the way we deal with riff raff!”; the poor lady was eventually allowed to return to her seat. Manuel was as usual domineered by Basil, and got into trouble many times, hiding under the tables with his pet ‘rat’. The acting was superb, and a full restaurant of diners was treated to a memorable show lasting two and a half hours. The four course dinner was delicious, despite a pair of false teeth being found in the cock-a- leekie soup! The proprietor of the restaurant, Neil Rusbridger was delighted and relieved the events were such a success, and he’s already looking forward to a return visit by the Australian theatre group in January 2009 and woe betide you if you turn up late!!"
As this event has proved so popular, we are now exploring the endless posibilities of what else we may be able to stage here.... watch out Dame Shirley!! Please keep an eye on our event page for new events. Any suggestions very welcome (keep it clean and legal!)

"A dining room of distinction - unstuffy, friendly yet professional staff provide a more than pleasant dining experience whether it be for lunch or dinner. "
"Every dish is a delicious, fresh delight offering the very highest quality fine cuisine in an elegant setting! Behind the charming exterior is a bright restaurant with top notch cuisine. The dining room is relaxed, spacious and comfortable, and the cooking superb. The wine list shows much care and attention too."
"You will leave feeling well-fed and well cared-for. The experience is so faultless that it is simply excellent value and you will want to return again and again."
"The delightful garden setting offers stylish dining in a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit, especially for lunch when the weather is a little warmer. The gardens are a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the setting.
A generous menu features an eclectic selection of dishes and is a welcoming, friendly restaurant in the classic style. The room is set off by antique features which whisper of its past. Equally alluring is the innovative menu conjured up to tantalize the taste buds. My wife and I enjoyed the cuisine immensely and would not hesitate to recommend the Dining Rooms to friends and family."
