Booking policy
Restaurant Reservations
Due to the popularity of our restaurant at certain time, tables for lunch or dinner we advise guests to book in advance. This helps us to ensure that the right level of staff are on duty and the chefs are prepared! A debit or credit card number is requested for parties over four. All major cards are taken.
Christmas parties of six or more must be confirmed with a 50% deposit of the total value of the menu costs.
Smoking
In accordance with UK law, The Dining Room operates a No Smoking policy within the building. You are however permitted to smoke in the garden (restaurant patrons only).
Children
The restaurant is an adult environment therefore we generally do not accept Children under 14 (unless booking the whole restaurant or that you can convince us your child is well behaved and will be 'controlled' if not!)
We regret that if children make a nuisance of themselves to other diners, then we reserve the right to ask you to remove the child, or as a last resort leave the restaurant.
Cancellation policy
If you are reserving a table of 4 people or more in the restaurant we will request credit or debit card details at the time of booking.
No money is charged to the card, unless we receive less than 48 hours notice (28 days during December) of either any reduction of numbers or cancellation.
In such circumstances our cancellation policy of £15.00 per person (£25.00 during major Goodwood events and December) will be applied.
For private functions where an exclusive or a significant part of the restaurant is booked, a 25% deposit will be taken at the time of confirmation and in the event of cancellation the following will apply:
From booking confirmation to 180 days prior - loss of deposit.
From 180 days to 90 days prior - loss of exclusivity fee. (if applicable)
From 90 days to 40 days prior - 25% of all costs quoted.
From 40 days to 28 days prior - 50 % of all costs quoted.
From 28 days to event date - 100% of all costs quoted.
