Chichester's The Dining Room at Purchase's has established itself firmly among the 'crème de la crème' of Chichester's restaurants and offers a tranquil, stylish setting for any occasion be it lunch during a shopping spree, business, pre-theatre supper or a celebration dinner.

The 2009 Chichester Festival Theatre season is now in full swing. A world class theatre within walking distance offering this year - 4 World premieres, 6 plays and the musical Oklahoma!  with artists such as Felicity Kendal, Nicholas Le Prevost, Diana Rigg, Simon Williams, David Horovitch and Michael Pennington, to name but a few.                     The Dining Room offers you a wonderful start or finish to your evening, with pre-theatre suppers available from 5.50pm (cocktail bar open all afternoon) In addition we also offer POST THEATRE suppers on Friday and Saturday or during the week for parties of six or more. Situated in the centre of Chichester, The Dining Room is within easy reach of the theatre, Cathedral, galleries, shops and car parks, and can be found within the beautiful Georgian mansion of what used to be the country's oldest wine merchant, Arthur Purchase & Son. Run by the same family since 1780; so for over 200 years has been a prominent landmark in North Street.

For restaurant patrons, there is a conservatory and an enchanting courtyard garden, complete with wrought-iron pavilions and parasols to deter the rain to complete what is, a really delightful restaurant.

Alternatively, just soak up the atmosphere in the Champagne, wine and cocktail bar (separately branded as 31 North), because apart from the richly decorated dining room, the cocktail room is a great place to meet friends and sample one of the many Champagnes by the glass in the stylish surroundings.
